Our Girls’ Division is designed to foster an environment where young women who love sports feel encouraged to pursue their interest in football within a league of their own. The league commissioners, who are women football players themselves, are extremely passionate about growth in women’s football are committed to supporting the interests and needs of young women.
Our Girls division is split into two age groups. Jr Girls-ages 10-13 (2011-2014). Sr Girls-ages 14-17 (2007-2010).
Not only will the participants learn the fundamental skills of football through fun, engaging games, they will also learn essential life skills including leadership, sportsmanship, teamwork and respect.
As a Girls’ Division player you will receive:
Skill Development Session: a 2-hour skill development session at the start of season (summer session only), conducted by experienced flag football players, to teach players the fundamentals of ball throwing/catching, route-running, and all defensive skills
Games:
SPRING: 2.5hr session every week comprising of both skill development drills and two 1h games
SUMMER: 1.5hr session every week comprising of both skill development drills and a 1hr game
Referees: Certified referee(s) at every game
Coaches: Parent/Volunteer coach(es) to call plays and provide sideline assistance
Equipment and Uniforms: Each player will receive a SCFFL jersey and a flag belt
Awards: Trophies or medals will be awarded to the Division Champions; end of season prizes will be given to all participants
